(AMC) Jeep Commando
1972–1973
.
.
In 1972, AMC shortened the Jeepster name from their Commando line, opting for the shorter Jeep Commando title instead. This incarnation of the Commando extended the wheelbase to 104", and swapped out the front-end design to receive the AMC I6 and V8 304ci. This new design echoed the Ford Bronco, and Jeep would move away from the Commando design completely after 1973. Around 21,000 AMC-spec "C104" Jeep (Bullnose) Commandos were produced in 1972 and 1973.
