Jeep Wrangler (YJ)
1986-1995
.
The Jeep Wrangler (YJ) was initially offered to the public in 1986, by Jeep’s newest owner, the Chrysler Corporation. This first-generation Wrangler, developed by American Motors, introduced rectangular grill lights; an evident contrast from the signature round headlights of the CJ Jeeps. Although the YJ inherited much from its forefather Jeeps, such as an open body, a separate frame, part-time 4WD and live axles on leaf-springs – the new 'Wrangler' was promoted by Chrysler and Jeep as a radically fresh design with added comfort and superior safety and handling.

The YJ is the original Wrangler... if you love the squares, this beach-themed poster we created in honor of the awesome YJ was made for you!
