First manufactured by Kaiser, and then AMC, the CJ-5 has one of the lengthiest production runs in automotive history. The CJ-5 was produced from 1954 all the way to 1983.

Earlier versions of the CJ-5 featured an 81” wheelbase. In 1972, the wheelbase was lengthened to 83.5” to accommodate new engines during AMC’s revamp of the CJ-5. CJ-5 was offered in more than a dozen various trim packages during its lengthy run; including Tuxedo Park/Tuxedo Park Mark, Renegade, Golden Eagle, Laredo and Silver Anniversary editions
